Kiosk User Interface design for FDA History Exhibit "Our Story"
Project type
Touchscreen Kiosk User Interface Design
Date
May 2019
Location
FDA WO
The kiosk is featured in the exhibit's introduction at 1:13.
The FDA was building a major exhibit at their White Oak campus when I first began working with them. Utilizing the many resources and historical artifacts accumulated during its long history, the installation would be open to visitors and detail the institution's work to keep the public safe. This was my first major project at the FDA and it engaged the abilities of our entire team (in addition to the phenomenal talents of photographer Cade Martin).
For my part, I helped coordinate the photography component whereby Cade and his lighting technician captured the dynamic imagery of the artifacts loaned to us by the History Office. I also worked closely with the team member responsible for programming the user interface as well as the history office contacts to curate materials used in the designs. I was responsible for developing all the graphic assets used for the UI's over 50 screens.
Here are some of examples of the Kiosk's UI design, a phone clip of it in action, as well as the concept and approved promotional art used for the exhibit's unveiling. Additionally there is a link to the promotional YouTube video where you can see the kiosk mentioned a 01:40.
